Special
departure dates - 28 July 2001, 30 June 2001,
1. Each year, we guide hundreds of
people to the summit of Kilimanjaro. It has become an institution to depart on
selected dates in order to tie up the climb with a full moon. This event, taking
into consideration the hiking seasons, takes place a few times a year. We've
selected two of the best months and their full moons to host special departure
dates. The first departure date after the long rain season is 30
June 2001 from South Africa and 29 June 2001
from Europe. Contact us now for more information on these dates.
2. During 2000, Tribe Safari conducted a unique international expedition to Kilimanjaro known as H2-Sensory Odyssey. The expedition saw us successfully guiding 4 blind people to the summit. Ascending via the Arrow Glacier route, we also spent one night sleeping over in the main crater of Kibo, a spectacular and very rare experience. In 2001 we're doing it again. after our success last year, it has been decided to conduct an annual Sensory Odyssey, on each occasion guiding blind people to the summit. This year, both Geoff Hilton-Barber and Neville Clarence (previous summiteers and blind) will join the expedition. We depart on 28 July 2001 for an 8 day hike. This trip also coincides with an ascent and overnight at the top during full moon. For more information on Sensory Odyssey 2001, please contact Tribe Safari:
